London’s newest bar is set to open offering a unique twist on the Karaoke theme. Now commonplace in every corner of the UK, karaoke has become known as one of Japan’s best known exports. Hoping to raise the image of a night-out that has become somewhat ridiculed by the wine-bar set is Lucky Voice, a brand new concept that will attempt to make karaoke cool again. The new bar, owned by well known lastminute.com co-founder, Martha Lane-Fox has spared no expense in shipping in the very latest technology to the 9 private room venue in London’s fashionable Poland Street. The idea is that a relaxed and up-market atmosphere will tempt groups of friends and colleagues into private rooms for a fun and alternative night out.

Naturally for a Lane-Fox venture, technology was a key requirement. Nick Thistleton was tasked with finding a web-based booking and customer management system that would enable parties to place real-time secure bookings on the bar’s web site. Additionally, the system had to allow staff to place bookings into the diary and ensure that the 9 private rooms are booked in an efficient way.
