Dear All
It was good to see you all again this year, and I am sorry to miss those that didn't make
it. At the end of the meeting in AOB, I brought up the subject of an online booking system
I have just started using. For the benefit of those who weren't there, I'll explain.
I opened a new restaurant at the end of November and from opening used a complete
online restaurant reservation system. I have been very pleased with this and in the
middle of January this year transferred all bookings for our Brasserie at the White Hart
onto the same system. This system completely replaces a manual diary.
The system is extremely flexible, user friendly, both for the customer and staff.
I list a few of pros of the system, as follows:-
Complete client data collection - email addresses, telephone numbers, visits etc.
Customers can book online
More than one person can book a table at one time, (no fighting over the diary)
Table plans are usually different on a daily basis - and it copes.
It can cope with joining tables together and varying capacities.
It covers different opening times at different times of the day and days of the week.
Staff have to login to use the system and so you can track who has taken bookings and
thus any errors are accountable.
You cannot over book but can operate a wait list for cancellations.
The list goes on really. The website address is www.restaurantdiary and the contact
is Mike Conyers. I have copied him into this email. When I was looking at the system he
set up a test sight, so that I could mess around with it until I was happy with the
flexibility.
Having used the system for the past two months, I so far haven't encountered any
problems. On the contrary, I think the system has resulted in an improvement in table
and booking management.
If anyone wishes to contact me direct, then please feel to do so, however it is probably
better to contact Mike Conyers as it's his business.
Hope to see you in June.
Kind regards
Charles Brierley
